Moodly Support
Help with entries, reminders, the printable summary, exporting or deleting your data, insights, accessibility, and ads.
Email support
The fastest way to reach us. Tell us what happened and include the app version from the bottom of the Settings screen. The app has no account, so we cannot look you up — and we cannot see your entries, so please do not send them unless you want to.
Where your entries live
In a file on your device, and nowhere else. There is no account and no server, so deleting the app deletes every entry permanently and we cannot recover them. If you are moving to a new phone, export your data first — Settings › Your data › Export everything — and keep the file somewhere safe.
Exporting and deleting
Export everything produces a plain JSON file with every entry in it, readable in any text editor. Printable summary produces a PDF laid out for paper. Both are built on your device and handed to the iOS share sheet, so where they go next is entirely your choice — nothing is uploaded. Delete everything wipes the file immediately and cannot be undone.
Taking the summary to someone
The printable summary is built for exactly that. It shows the date range, your averages with the meaning of each scale spelled out, the shape of your record across the five states, the words you used most, the observations, and your own writing in full. It says on every page that it describes what you recorded rather than diagnosing anything, so a single page read out of context cannot be mistaken for a clinical finding.
The daily reminder
One notification a day at the time you choose, and none on a day you have already logged — the app rebuilds its reminder queue after every check-in so it never asks you for something you have already given it. If the toggle will not stay on, iOS has notifications turned off for Moodly: Settings › Notifications › Moodly. The app will tell you so rather than pretending the switch worked.
Why an insight has not appeared
Every observation needs a minimum number of entries behind it before it will show, because a pattern drawn from four days is not a pattern. Keep logging and they arrive on their own. Some need a particular kind of data — the sleep comparison needs nights you rated at both ends of the scale, for instance.
What the insights are
Descriptions of your own record and nothing more. They will tell you that Saturdays have averaged higher than your other days; they will never tell you what that means about you, predict how tomorrow will go, or suggest what to do. Moodly is not a medical device, not a diagnostic tool, and not a substitute for talking to a professional. If something in your life needs help, please speak to one.
Filling in a day you missed
You can log a mood for any of the last seven days from the calendar. Your streak is untouched either way — filling a gap is for the record being complete, not for the number, and there is deliberately no way to buy a streak back.
Accessibility options
The five moods differ in drawn expression, silhouette and word before they differ in colour, so the scale reads in grayscale. Settings offers larger text, high contrast, and reduced motion, which removes the drift of colour after a check-in.
Advertising issues
The app is free and supported by advertising: a banner along the top of the screens you read on, an occasional full-screen ad when you move between sections, one when you open the app, and optional videos you start yourself. The check-in has none of them — not the six steps, and not the screen after them. You may be asked for tracking permission through Apple’s prompt, and declining never limits the app. Where regional privacy law requires it, a consent form appears before any ad loads, and you can reopen it from Settings.
Privacy questions
What the app keeps on your device — which is all of it — and the little that ever leaves it is described in its privacy policy.
