About
An independent software company, building considered products with care.
Polari Group is an independent software company. Our name comes from Polari, an underground slang language used by gay men in 20th-century Britain — a coded vocabulary for finding each other when finding each other was dangerous. We keep that spirit: software made with care for the people using it. Today that spans a map-first social platform, a life-simulation game, a privacy tool for everyday email, a media saver that keeps what you save on your own device, a colour-sorting puzzle built so every level has an answer, a mood journal that never uploads a word of it, and a party game that keeps the whole evening on the phones in the room — different products, one standard.
We started Polari Group because good software is made by people who care about the person on the other side of the screen. Too much of what ships treats attention as a commodity. We build the other kind — products that feel considered, designed with restraint, and operated with care.
The range is deliberate. Cruise is a map-first social platform, live worldwide. DramaLife is a life-simulation game for iOS. Maskbox is a privacy tool that gives you a burner email address for anything you don’t want in your real inbox. clip turns a link into a file on your phone and keeps the library there, not on our servers. Chroma Pour is a colour-sorting puzzle whose levels are generated so that a solution always exists. Red Flag or Green Flag is a card game about the things people do, played alone or with the room. Moodly is a private mood journal whose entries never leave the phone they were written on. Call Out is a party game for the people in the room, played across their own phones over the local network. Different products, one standard: respect for the user, sophistication in design, and a refusal to cut corners.
Every product begins with the same question: does this respect the person using it? We design with restraint — clean surfaces, considered typography, nothing that shouts. The result should feel calm in the hand, made by people who cared about the details.
We treat privacy as a foundation, not a feature. We collect little, keep it briefly, and delete it on request. We do not sell attention, and we never will. The people who use our software are an audience worth earning, not a market to mine.
Cruise, a map-first social platform, is live worldwide. DramaLife, a life-simulation game, Maskbox, a privacy tool for everyday email, clip, a media saver that keeps your library on your device, Chroma Pour, a colour-sorting puzzle that never deals an unsolvable board, Red Flag or Green Flag, a card game that asks a table to agree on how bad something was, Moodly, a private mood journal that keeps every entry on the device it was written on, and Call Out, a party game that runs across the phones in a room with no account and no server, round out the current lineup. More is in development under Polari Group, each product held to the same standard.
