Saving

A link that will not save

Not every link has a file behind it. Some platforms publish a post’s details — its title, author, and cover — without publishing the video itself, and some put a post behind a login or an age check. When that happens clip tells you which it is. That is a limit of what the platform makes available, not something a different link or a newer version will fix.

Library

Your library

Everything you save lives on your device. clip has no account and keeps no copy on a server, so deleting the app deletes the library — we cannot restore it. Saving to Photos is the way to keep a copy somewhere else. A clip pro subscription is the exception: it is tied to your Apple Account and can always be restored.

Photos

Saving to Photos

clip asks only for permission to add to Photos, never to read it — it cannot see anything already in your library. If a save does not appear in Photos, check Settings › clip › Photos on your device. The copy in clip’s own library is unaffected either way.

Purchases

Purchases and refunds

clip pro is an auto-renewing subscription processed by Apple. Restore it from the Restore option on the clip pro screen after reinstalling or switching devices. Refunds are handled by Apple: open reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with the Apple Account you used to subscribe.

Ads

Advertising issues

Free clip is supported by ads; clip pro removes them entirely. You may be asked for tracking permission through Apple’s prompt, and declining never limits what you can save. You can change that choice anytime in iOS Settings.

Privacy

Privacy questions

How clip handles the little it holds — and why the files themselves never reach us — is described in its privacy policy.
