What Maskbox Is

Maskbox lets you generate masked email addresses (“masks”) and receive, in the App, the email sent to them. It is a privacy tool for keeping mail out of your primary inbox. It is not a full email provider: it is designed to receive mail at disposable addresses, and it is built to delete that mail on a short schedule.

Your Anonymous Session

Maskbox has no account, sign-in, or password. Your masks and mail are tied to an anonymous session stored on your device. You are responsible for the device and for anything done through your session.

Because there is no account, we cannot verify ownership, transfer a session to a new device on your behalf, or recover your data if it is lost. If you delete the App, wipe your device, or choose “Delete everything,” your masks and their mail are permanently gone. Do not rely on Maskbox as the only place you can receive a given message.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use Maskbox only for lawful purposes and only for yourself. You will not, and will not attempt to:

• use a mask to commit fraud, phishing, or deception, or to impersonate any person or entity;
• evade a ban, block, suspension, or rate limit imposed by another service, or create accounts in violation of another service’s terms;
• send, solicit, or receive unlawful content, or use the App to harass, threaten, or harm anyone;
• receive, store, or distribute child sexual abuse material, which we report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and to law enforcement as required by law;
• generate masks in bulk, or access the App through automated means, scripts, or scraping;
• interfere with, overload, or attempt to breach the security or integrity of the App or our systems; or
• resell, sublicense, or provide the App or masks to third parties as a service.

A burner-email service can be abused, and we take that seriously. We may suspend or terminate access, and remove or preserve data, to enforce these Terms or comply with the law.

Mail You Receive

Mail delivered to your masks is created and sent by third parties. We do not author, endorse, or vet it, and we are not responsible for its content. You are responsible for how you use the addresses you create and for the consequences of giving them out.

Deliverability and Availability

Email delivery is best-effort and outside our full control. Senders may block, filter, or rate-limit mail to our domains; masks expire on the lifespan you choose; and messages are deleted after a short retention period. We do not guarantee that any particular message will be received, retained, or delivered on time, and the App is provided on an as-available basis. Masked-address domains may change over time.

Subscriptions and Billing

Maskbox PRO is an auto-renewing subscription sold through Apple’s In-App Purchase and billed to your Apple Account. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, it renews automatically at the then-current price, and your Apple Account is charged for renewal. Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings; deleting the App does not cancel it.

Prices, plan limits, and the features included in Free and PRO may change; we will reflect changes in the App. Payments are handled by Apple, and refunds are subject to Apple’s policies — we do not process payments or issue refunds directly.

Intellectual Property

The App, including its software, design, and the Maskbox name and logo, is owned by Polari Group and protected by law. We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for its intended purpose, subject to these Terms. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works of the App except as permitted by law.

Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App, and remove or preserve associated data, at any time if you violate these Terms or the law, or to protect the App, its users, or Polari Group. Discovery of child sexual abuse material results in immediate termination, preservation of associated data for law enforcement, and a report as required by law. You may stop using the App at any time and erase your data with “Delete everything.”

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY MESSAGE WILL BE RECEIVED, RETAINED, OR DELIVERED.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, POLARI GROUP WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, MESSAGES, OR ACCESS TO OTHER SERVICES, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP. TO THE EXTENT LIABILITY CANNOT BE EXCLUDED, IT IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE APP IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR TWENTY U.S. DOLLARS (US$20).

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Polari Group from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising out of your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date shown at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The exclusive venue for any dispute that is not subject to arbitration or small-claims court will be the state and federal courts located in New Mexico.
