Call Out Privacy Policy
Effective August 5, 2026
Call Out has no account and no server. Your votes, your name and your photo stay on the phones in your room and are gone when the room closes. The only thing that reaches the internet is advertising.
This policy explains what Call Out (the “App”) does with information. It is written to be read rather than to be defensible, so it says plainly what happens and where.
Polari Group LLC operates the App. If anything here is unclear, email us at support@polarigroup.com and we will answer it.
The Short Version
There is no account, no sign-in and no server that holds a game. The App never uploads your votes, your name, your photo or your results, because there is nowhere for them to go. The phones in a party talk directly to one another over your local network. The only part of the App that reaches the internet is advertising, and that can be turned off permanently with a single purchase.
Your Votes
A vote is the most personal thing in the game and it is handled accordingly. Votes are held on the host’s device for the length of a round. Until a round is revealed, the host strips every ballot out of the information it sends to the other phones, so no other device is holding a vote it should not be able to read.
After a reveal, who voted for whom can be shown to the room — but only by a deliberate act, and the host can seal the ballots when creating the room so that nothing reveals them at all. Either way, the votes exist only on the phones in the room for the length of the party. They are never uploaded, never attached to an identity, never included in an analytics event, and never seen by us.
Your Name
You choose a first name, up to twelve characters, so the room knows who is who. It is stored on your own device and sent to the other phones in your party. It is not an account, it is not verified, it is not linked to anything, and it never reaches us.
Your Photo
You can take or choose a photo so the spotlight has a face to land on. Taking one is optional and the game is fully playable without it — decline the camera or tap Skip and you get a colour and your initial instead.
The photo is cropped to a square and reduced to 240 pixels on your own device before it goes anywhere. It is then sent directly to the other phones in your room over your local network. It is never uploaded, never sent to us, and never stored on a server, because there is no server. The copies held by the other phones in the room are dropped when the room closes.
One copy is kept in the App’s own storage on your device so you are not asked to take a photo every time you open the game. You can replace it or remove it at any time in Settings › Your name and photo, and deleting the App removes it permanently.
Choosing a photo from your library uses Apple’s photo picker, which hands the App the single image you picked and nothing else. The App is never granted access to your photo library.
The Local Network
A party connects the phones in a room directly to one another over your local Wi-Fi network or a shared hotspot. There is no server, no account and no internet connection involved: the phones find each other by a six-digit code advertised on the local network, and every connection between them is encrypted.
iOS asks for permission the first time the App needs the local network. Declining it means the App cannot find or advertise a room — the rest of the game is unaffected, and the App will tell you what is wrong rather than appearing to be broken.
Nothing that passes between the phones is logged, retained or forwarded. When a room closes, everything about it is gone from every device that was in it.
Information Stored on Your Device
The App stores the following on your device only: the first name and colour you chose, your photo if you took one, which packs you have unlocked, your age confirmation for adult packs, any questions you have reported, and your settings — sound, haptics, reduced motion, high contrast, adult packs, and whether you seal the ballots in rooms you host.
This data never leaves your device through the App’s own code. It is not backed up to us, and we cannot see it, read it or restore it. Deleting the App removes all of it permanently.
Content You Report
Reporting a question hides it on your device and, if you are hosting, removes it from the room in progress. The report is recorded on your phone so the question does not come back. Nothing about a report is sent to us automatically.
Names and photos are supplied by the people in your room and are not moderated by us — we never see them. The host of a room can remove any player from it, which closes that player’s connection and discards their votes and score.
Advertising
The App shows advertising supplied by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect information from your device to select and measure ads, including an advertising identifier, coarse device and app information, and general location inferred from an IP address. This is the only part of the App that communicates with the internet.
On first launch the App asks, through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt, whether it may use your advertising identifier for tracking. Declining is respected in full: the game plays identically and you will see non-personalised advertising instead. Where required by law, a consent form is also shown before any ad is requested, and it can be reopened at any time.
Google’s handling of that information is governed by their own policies, which are linked from the consent form.
Purchases
Remove Ads Forever is a single purchase handled by Apple. We never see your payment details. The App uses RevenueCat to check whether the purchase applies to your Apple Account; RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier and the receipt Apple issues, and nothing that identifies you personally.
Analytics
The App contains no analytics. We do not measure sessions, screens, taps, retention or anything else about how you play. We do not know how many rounds you have played, which packs you use or who you voted for, and we have built the App so that we could not find out.
Children
The App is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. One pack is marked 17+, is hidden unless it is switched on in Settings, and requires an explicit confirmation before it opens.
Your Choices
You can decline the camera, decline the photo library, decline the local network, decline tracking, and remove your photo and name — and the App tells you what each one costs rather than nagging. Deleting the App deletes everything it holds. Since we hold nothing, there is nothing to request from us and nothing to delete on our side.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the effective date above changes with it and the new version is published here before the change reaches the App.
